After waiting for 8 months or so, Abbey was here. We had all these preconceived notions that it would be all awkward and we would just be sitting in silence for most of the time. To my surprise it was just the opposite.

Everything felt normal, natural. Right. It was more than I could have ever wished for or imagined. She was so adorable when she knocked on my door. Standing off to the side of the porch.

When I held her in my arms everything else just disappeared. It was only her and I. I felt like…like I had finally come home. She was speechless In the car. Just looking at me and smiling and giggling.

We felt like a couple at the mall. She rested her head on my shoulder during the avengers. To be honest though, I don’t even remember the movie all that well. I was just so focused on her. I pick on Neri and Hunter for being so caught up in each other but now I realize how it feels to be in that position. Its unreal how distance can make things so much easier.

I hate that people in LDRs get this tag of being unlucky. We aren’t really. Were the lucky ones. We don’t rely so heavily on physical contact. Distance does make the heart grow fonder. We are a prime example. We have all of our emotional relations set in stone for the most part and everything else just falls into place. Quite amazing really.

I just want to say I had a wonderful day with you Ms. Douglas. I must be the luckiest guy in the world to not only know you, but call you mine. Remember babe, when things get tough, smile, you’re so beautiful when you smile.
